At Ira Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we’re ready to make sure you’re equipped for the ride ahead!

Ram 1500

Let’s Explore Dimensions

When we look at the dimensions of these trucks, we see quite a variety of cab and bed sizes. The Ram 1500 boasts options of:

  • Quad Cab with 6-foot, 4-inch bed
  • Crew Cab with 5-foot, 7-inch bed
  • Crew Cab with 6-foot, 4-inch bed

Meanwhile, the Chevy Silverado has various configurations of Regular/Double/Crew Cab with a Standard, Long, or Short Bed.

However, while the Silverado has ample cargo space, some configurations cut the passenger space down to three seats. In the Ram 1500, you’ll never have fewer than five seats, so you and your buddies can have fun adventures on the road.

Ram 1500 Engine Specs

Powerful Performance

When you’re trying to find your ideal engine, it’s great to have plenty of options. In comparison to Chevy’s four available engines, the Ram offers five different engines, giving you a wider variety to pick from.

How powerful do those engines get? Well, the Silverado offers an available high-powered 6.2L ECOTEC3 V8 engine that churns out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. But with the 2022 Ram 1500’s available 6.2L Supercharged HEMI® V8 engine, which produces 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, the Silverado gets left in the dust.

Not only are variety and power important, but you also want to be mindful of your fuel consumption. With the standard engines on both trucks, you’ll find EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of:

  • 19 city and 22 highway MPG for the Chevy Silverado
  • 20 city and 25 highway MPG for the Ram 1500

Which model has the grit you need?

Ram 1500 Towing Power

Hook up Your Trailer

When you’re ready to hook up a trailer, get ready for easy towing ahead. Reach a maximum of 12,750-pound towing capacity for the Ram 1500 and 13,300-pound maximum towing capacity with the Silverado when properly equipped.

Both will give you plenty of capacity to pull heavy loads, for business and pleasure. But with the advancements of the Ram 1500, you can tow more conveniently and safer. Some features that make this possible are:

  • Available Trailer-Tow Power-Fold Mirrors let you keep an eye on your trailer and everything else behind your truck.
  • Optional Trailer Reverse Steering Control allows you to control your trailer while reversing.
  • Available Active-Level™ Four Corner Air Suspension lowers the truck to make hitching up your load easy as pie.

Unfortunately, the Silverado doesn’t offer any of these features. So, for simple heavy-duty towing, check out all the extra amenities of the 1500.

Ram 1500 Interior Technology

Advanced Technology

There are a lot of standard technology shared features between these trucks to help make your commutes more convenient, such as:

  • Media touchscreens
  • Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Voice-activated infotainment & more!

Enjoy the power of your infotainment system to help you get around. The screen can go up to an 8-inch display in the Chevy Silverado. However, if you want a bigger perspective, enjoy the Ram 1500’s maximum 12-inch touchscreen.

Hook up your phone via Bluetooth® and enjoy the tunes in the cabin. While the Chevy Silverado starts with a 2-speaker system and goes up to six available speakers, the 2022 Ram 1500 starts with six speakers and goes all the way up to 19 optional speakers, giving you a fuller sound in your cabin.

Ram 1500

Drive Safe

Time to say safe on the road. Luckily, both trucks have sensors and cameras surrounding the exterior, giving you the company of driver-assistive technologies, such as:

  • Standard backup camera
  • Optional Lane Keep Assist
  • Available Forward Collision Warning & more!

With the optional Forward Collision Alert in the Silverado, you’ll receive a warning when you’re too close to another vehicle or an obstacle or when a potential collision is detected. However, the Ram 1500 offers available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. It can warn you of potential collisions and apply the brakes in certain circumstances.

In addition, the Ram 1500 offers an optional 360° Surround View Camera, which watches all sides of your truck to help you keep aware of your surroundings on the go. The Silverado provides up to 14 different cameras, but none of them offer a 360° view of the truck.
